About us: who is behind this training programme

The CYBERSQUAD Akademie is an approved training provider based in Düsseldorf. We have a single training programme: “AI-Driven Security Operations Specialist”. This page tells you who the company is, why this academy exists, how we teach and how you can check every one of these statements yourself. That includes a separate section on what we do not promise.

Who is behind it

Four perspectives on the same field

The academy was founded by André Käsbach. His path through IT security is the reason why this training programme is built the way it is – and why it starts with the attack and not with the theory.

Four career stages, four phases: the curriculum follows the order in which someone got to know this field first-hand – first the attack, then the defence.
Investigation

Criminal investigation police

Command unit and cybercrime department. There, an attack is treated as a case: with victims, with traces and with the question of what could have prevented it.

What came of it: In the SOC‑Simulator you work through incidents the way they end up in a case file – with a report and with reasons that others can follow.

Support

IT service companies

Then the service provider side: networks, servers and workstations for companies that have no IT department of their own.

What came of it: We teach the tools that small and medium-sized companies actually have – not only what runs in large corporations.

Operations

In-house IT

Later, responsibility for day-to-day operations in-house, with a budget, with faults and with on-call duty.

What came of it: Lessons run like a working day, 9:00 to 16:40. If you want to manage a shift later on, you have to have practised shifts.

Attack

Red team and penetration tests

Finally the attacker’s side, with a contract and with permission: attacking systems so that the gaps show up before the real attackers find them.

What came of it: Phase 2 shows you the attack before Phase 3 shows the defence. If you know only one side, you miss the other.

This order is built into the curriculum. First you understand how an attack works. Then you learn to spot it and stop it in a company. This is not a teaching idea; it is the order in which someone got to know this field first-hand.

The reason

What this academy was built for

One single purpose: to prepare adults with no previous IT knowledge for work in IT security. Three decisions came out of that.

Start from zero. Phase 1 assumes nothing – not programming, not networks, not even Linux. If you build a programme that quietly assumes people have ‘already done a bit with computers’, you shut out exactly the people it is meant for.
Teach live. The approval document states: asynchronous share 0. Every lesson takes place with a tutor.
One programme, not twenty. We have exactly one approved programme. Everything we do goes into this one.

Are you a public authority, or part of the Agentur für Arbeit?
No. We are a private company and a training provider approved under AZAV. The Agentur für Arbeit alone decides on your funding. We prepare your documents and we teach you, nothing more.
Who teaches at your academy?
Tutors with both professional and teaching qualifications. AZAV requires proof of this qualification for every teacher; we submit this proof to the certification body. As soon as it is settled who will be standing in front of your group, you will find their name and CV here on this page. That way, on the first day you meet exactly the people named here.
Where is your school building?
There is none. The approval document names the delivery format: digital (virtual) programme. Lessons take place in a virtual classroom, and the administration is based in Düsseldorf. So you can take part from anywhere in Germany without moving house.
How can I check that you really exist?
In the Handelsregister at the Amtsgericht Düsseldorf under HRB 111353. Through the two certificate numbers from Kiwa ZERTPUNKT that appear at the top of this page. Through our entry in the course database of the Bundesagentur für Arbeit at cybersquad-akademie.de/now. And by calling us. Your Vermittlungsfachkraft — your adviser at the Agentur für Arbeit or Jobcenter — can also see us in their own system.
Do you also find me a job?
We teach you the subject and we practise applying for jobs with you: CV, LinkedIn profile and two practice job interviews are part of Phase 6. Placing you in a job is not part of it.
Does a conversation with you cost me anything?
No. The advice, the documents and the written reasons for your Agentur für Arbeit or Jobcenter are free and without obligation. With an approved Bildungsgutschein, the programme itself costs you nothing either. And if you enrol later on, you get the contract beforehand, to read in your own time.
Why does the programme have an English name?
Because that is exactly how the title appears on the approval document: ‘AI-Driven Security Operations Specialist’, with nothing added. It has to read the same everywhere, otherwise your Agentur für Arbeit or Jobcenter cannot match the programme clearly. There is no German title. The job behind it is called Junior SOC Analyst: the person who is the first to notice an attack on a company’s computers.
Do you offer other courses as well?
Not at the moment. We have one approved programme and we concentrate on it. If a second one is added, it will appear here and in the course database of the Bundesagentur.
I’m not sure I can manage this.
That is the most common question, and it is a fair one. The programme is built for people with no previous IT knowledge: Phase 1 starts from zero, a tutor is there every day, and the group stays the same for nine months. What you need to bring: enough German to follow the lessons — we do not ask for a particular level — and the time for full-time study. We check both of these beforehand in a short conversation — honestly, even when the answer is no.
